"Thirteen Days" Opens January 12, 2001.

VCE has provided Nuclear Weapon detonation sequences for the upcoming New Line Pictures presentation of "13 Days" starring Kevin Costner. This highly anticipated film chronicles the1962 Cuban Missile Crisis and the tense 13 days it took to resolve the standoff between the U.S. and Cuba. "13 Days" is Directed by Roger Donaldson. Academy Award-winner Costner plays Special Assistant to the President Kenneth O'Donnell.

VCE researched and obtained original materials which wererestored and cleaned up at film resolution including footage used in "Trinity and Beyond".

The image of the nuclear detonation is included in the opening title sequence produced by Kuran and vce for "13 Days." One irony is that this nuclear test was actually conducted during the Cuban Missile Crisis. "Not many people are aware that the US Government was actually still conducting nuclear testsduring thet Cuban Missile Crisis", mentions Kuran, "some were even launched on rockets in the PacificOcean and detonated in space."
